Day 11:
My letter to my younger self was full of “believe in yourself” advice, along with “people who tell you what to do have no clue themselves.” As a Crone I can laugh (I have to or I’ll cry) about the advice. I could have been doing so much more over the years if I had trusted myself and had a ring of Crone advocates.
We are learning that our best advocates are ourselves, and we can reach out and connect with other newly aware advocates. That’s part of what Project Agapé is about.
We have to believe that everything we learn is not too late.
We have to believe that every ripple we start moves further and further away from us and affects more people than we can imagine.
We have to believe that we can cope with one choice at a time, not a dozen, and in that way be more effective than we ever believed.
But - we have to begin, and according to Eleanor Roosevelt, the “way to begin is begin.”
So…get a piece of paper and whatever you want to write with, and start…..
List every issue, every person, every task, every policy, every book that has kept you awake over the last two decades inn angst. Every item on this list should affect you in some way.
Now list what makes you mad, upset, angry, wanting to change, wanting to cry out, wanting to protest.
It’s a lot. It’s mammoth.
We can’t do it all, individually.
But-
We can do a piece ourselves. How?
Pick ONE ITEM from your list for which you feel passion - ONLY ONE. That’s what you want to focus on. Our passion can be our own savior, in that we are working to improve or change that one thing we truly believe in.
This doesn’t mean that we forget about every other item on our list. It means we focus our energies on this particular one. We have our Quest.
Spend a day thinking about this quest on which you are embarking. Turn it over and over in your mind. Try not to let other items from your list distract you; that can happen easily.
We Crones have experience, awareness, and desire to make this world and all its peoples better. Let’s dive into new learning and start spreading the news.
